What is a Jones Act case? A Jones Act case typically applies to offshore oil workers, fisherman, shrimpers, shipping personnel, anyone who was injured in an offshore accident on a vessel in applicable waters. The Jones Act was an act by the United States congress in the early 1800’s it’s very favorable for folks who were injured offshore.
