A common defective product in the household is a smoke alarm. Most smoke alarms you buy at a big box retailer do not contain both ionization and photo-electric technology. It is critical they contain both. Ionization detects fast, flaming fires and photoelectric detects slow, smoldering fires. Without having both of these technologies, the alarm will not operate properly depending on what type of fire you have. You can’t predict what type of fire you will have, so it’s important to have both technologies. If you have been injured or had a loved one lost due to a defective smoke alarm, please give me a call.
